What the vCISO owns

Executive leadership

A senior CISO accountable to your CEO and board, carrying the security mandate day to day and representing you in front of supervisors and auditors.

Security programme build

Stand up policy, governance, KPIs and a reporting cadence that survives inspection — starting from an assessment of what you already have.

Board and audit reporting

Quantified risk narratives for executives, regulators and customers, written so a non-technical board can make a funded decision.

Regulatory correspondence

Preparation for DORA and NIS2 obligations, CySEC ICT questionnaires, supervisory requests and incident-reporting readiness.

Budget, roadmap and vendors

A multi-year roadmap tied to growth and regulation, an investment sequence you can defend, and challenge on the tools and suppliers you are being sold.

M&A and investor readiness

Cyber due diligence before signature, post-merger integration of security posture, and the evidence pack investors and acquirers ask for.

Who this is for

CySEC-regulated investment firms

You need a named, accountable owner for ICT risk, the Register of Information and incident-reporting duties — and a board that can speak to them.

CIF and forex compliance

NIS2 Important Entities

You must implement risk measures, report incidents and evidence governance. A vCISO owns the programme and the evidence trail while you run the business.

Check your NIS2 maturity

Businesses with no security lead

You have IT, tools and policies, but nobody senior owns cyber risk or answers for it. Fractional leadership closes that gap at a fraction of a hire.

Firms preparing for certification

ISO 27001 and SOC 2 both require management commitment, defined roles and evidence. A vCISO builds the ISMS governance and keeps it alive after the audit.

A written security strategy and investment case for the coming year, aligned to regulatory deadlines and business change.

/ FAQ

Outsourced CISO questions

What is a vCISO?
A virtual CISO is an experienced security leader who takes on the CISO mandate for your organisation on a fractional basis. You get a named senior executive accountable for cyber risk, board reporting and regulatory obligations without carrying the cost of a full-time hire.
Why choose an outsourced CISO instead of hiring one?
A full-time CISO is a long, expensive hire that most Cypriot organisations cannot justify on their own risk budget. An outsourced CISO starts immediately, brings a team and tooling behind them, and scales up or down as your obligations change. You also avoid the risk of a single person holding all security knowledge.
Can a vCISO handle CySEC and DORA obligations?
Yes. A large part of our Cyprus practice supports CySEC-supervised investment firms, fund managers and crypto-asset service providers. That covers ICT risk frameworks, the Register of Information, incident-reporting readiness, threat-led penetration testing where you are designated, and supervisory correspondence.
Who is actually doing the work?
A named senior advisor holds the mandate and is your point of contact, backed by the wider TheCyberCo team for testing, monitoring, compliance and incident response. You always know who owns the decision.
Do you deliver in Greek?
Yes. Engagements, board material, policy sets and training can be delivered in Greek or English, which matters when the board, the supervisor or the workforce is mixed.
How does a vCISO relationship usually start?
With a cyber risk assessment or maturity review, so the mandate begins from an honest picture of where you stand rather than an assumption. From there we agree the roadmap, the cadence and what the board will see.
